Beautiful Lordfeatured

This posting is the first of what I hope will be periodic invitations to reflect on God’s Word.  I have found that when I take the time to not only read, but “sit” with a verse or two, the Holy Spirit usually has a truth for me to absorb and apply to my day.  I’ll come up with a couple of questions each time to get your pondering started. Grab a cup of coffee or tea, invite the Holy Spirit to join you and steep for a few minutes in the beauty of the Lord.

This painting is “Beautiful Lord” based on Psalm 27:4.

“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”

Questions for Reflection:

  1. How will I incorporate seeking the Lord into my day?
  2. What does the phrase, “this only do I seek” really mean to me?
  3. How does the phrase “dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life” impact my day-to-day life?
  4. How can I make gazing on the beauty of the Lord a reality today? (At the end of the day, you might want to record the where you found his beauty!)
